Berry Ties The Knot

15 Jul

Pregnant Halle Berry married her long time fiance Olivier Martinez over the weekend in an intimate ceremony, with the Oscar winner looking nervous but radiant as she arrived at the picturesque church in the small village of Vallery, Burgundy.

The couple, who became engaged in March 2012, said “I do” in front of 60 of their closest friends and family at the picturesque church before heading to the nearby Chateau de Conde where they carried on the celebrations.

The couple apparently spent two days at the Chateau de Vallery – the standard rental period for weddings and other grand events, the owner said.

Vansteenberghe noted that the chateau’s pigeon room, an outbuilding once used to house pigeons, is a preferred room for newly married couples, but he hedged about whether Berry and Martinez stayed there.

The oldest part of the chateau dates to the Middle Ages, but much of it was built during the Renaissance.

Going for a laidback look, the X Men star wore her cropped hair relaxed and donned a white dress with heavily embroidered wide straps for the occasion with the actress looking understandably nervous as she arrived at the church.

The dress is rumored to be that one of Jenny Packham‘s ingenious designs! Stunning bride Halle no matter what you wear!

She matched the colour of her dress with petal pink lips, whilst keeping her eye-make up subtle with a glowing bronze shadow that widened and defined the brunette’s gorgeous gaze

The couture Elie Saab creation worn by Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg on her wedding day featured a train of 13ft emelished with 50,000 pearls and silver thread. It’s not surprising then that the overall dress took a total of 3,900 hours to make – 700 with the seamstress and an extraordinary 3,200 for the embroidery. The leaf motif of the dress complemented the design of the glistening Altenloh de Bruxelles tiara which has been passed down by her family since 1878
